Sinemet CR is a drug prescribed to people with Parkinson’s disease. It contains two active ingredients, levodopa and carbidopa. Levodopa helps the brain produce dopamine, which is lacking in people with Parkinson’s disease. Carbidopa helps prevent the breakdown of levodopa before it reaches the brain. The dosage of Sinemet CR depends on how well it controls symptoms and how well the person tolerates it.
