Lotemax is a prescription medication used to treat inflammation and pain in the eyes. The active ingredient in Lotemax is loteprednol etabonate, which belongs to a group of medications called corticosteroids. Corticosteroids are hormones that occur naturally in the body and help to regulate many important functions. Lotemax comes as an ophthalmic suspension (eye drops). It is usually prescribed four times a day for two weeks, then twice daily for two weeks, and then once daily as needed.

Lotemax is a great medication that quickly reduces inflammation and eye pain! I like that it starts working right after it is used! Although this medication has some benefits, I found that because I had to take several doses a day, it was hard to remember to take them all in time. Also, I had blurred vision after using Lotemax, which is pretty uncomfortable.
