Desogen

Desogen is a drug that is used to prevent pregnancy. It contains the active ingredient desogestrel, which is a type of hormone called a progestin. Progestins help to prevent ovulation (the release of an egg from an ovary) and also thicken the cervical mucus, making it harder for sperm to reach an egg. Desogen comes in tablet form and is taken once daily. Some common side effects include headache, nausea, breast tenderness, and spotting between periods. Desogen has been shown to be effective at preventing pregnancy; however, it does not protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
