It may also be used to prevent or slow the progression of infection in people with bone marrow cancer who are receiving radiation therapy. Cefzil works by stopping the growth of bacteria.
Cefzil is available as a tablet and suspension (liquid). The usual dose of cefprozil for adults is 250 mg every 12 hours. For children, the dose depends on their weight and age, but it is usually between 20 mg and 50 mg every 12 hours. Take cefprozil at around the same times each day to keep an even level of medication in your blood.
Ceftriaxone may cause side effects such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness or lightheadedness when you first start taking it. Let your doctor know if these symptoms are severe or do not go away. Call your doctor right away if you have any signs of an allergic reaction including rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips or tongue
