Betoptic eye drops are a medication that is used to treat glaucoma. The active ingredient in Betoptic eye drops is betaxolol, which is a beta blocker. Beta blockers work by reducing the amount of fluid that builds up in the eyes, which helps to lower pressure within the eyes and can help to slow or stop damage to the optic nerve.

Betoptic eye drops come as either an ophthalmic solution (liquid) or ointment. The dosage for Betoptic will vary depending on what it is being used for, but typically it will be prescribed one drop in each eye twice per day. It is important that you use Betoptic exactly as prescribed by your doctor - do not increase or decrease the dosage without consulting your doctor first!
When using Betoptic, you should avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface (including your eyelid), as this can contaminate the medication and cause infection. To apply the drops, tilt your head back slightly and pull down on your lower eyelid with one hand; then insert one drop into your eye with the other hand, holding on to the dropper tip. Be careful not to blink until after you have inserted the drop! Hold onto closed eyelids for about two minutes so that medicine can be absorbed into tissues around the eyeball. After putting in eye drops wait 5-10 minutes before inserting contact lenses if wearing them
Drug for the treatment of elevated intraocular pressure. Its action is based on reduction of intraocular fluid production. The drug is selective (acts only on the ophthalmosphere), it has no undesirable systemic effects on the cardiovascular and respiratory systems. This medication was prescribed to me by my ophthalmologist before I was fitted with contact lenses. My eyesight was “jumping” with a difference of several diopters, so I needed to reduce the intraocular pressure. There are some unpleasant feelings when you first use it, it stings the eyes a little. It is better to drop at night and in the morning. After a few days of use, my eyes stopped getting tired and watery. The drug suited me, it did not cause allergies.
