Micronase

Micronase - Glyburide(glibenclamide) - 1.25mg/2.5mg/5mg

It was the first oral antihyperglycemic agent developed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Micronase lowers blood sugar by stimulating the pancreas to produce more insulin. It is taken once a day, with or without food.

Micronase may cause low blood sugar levels, especially when you first start taking it or if your dose is changed. You may feel dizzy, lightheaded, sweaty, shaky, or have hunger pangs, nausea, or confusion if your blood sugar gets too low. Low blood sugar can happen during exercise or sports activities; when you are sick with a fever; when you are stressed; after eating certain foods that contain carbohydrates; and at other times.

If you take Micronase and experience any of these symptoms of low blood sugar: eat some sugary food such as candy bars or regular soft drinks right away as well as drink plenty of fluids like water and fruit juices to help raise your blood glucose level quickly.

Be sure to tell your doctor about all medications and supplements that you take because they could interact with Micronase.

It is important to continue taking Micronase even if you feel well.
