What should you not take with Maxalt?

Before taking Maxalt, tell your doctor if you have ever had: heart disease, high blood pressure, liver disease, seizures or epilepsy; a stroke; chest pain or tightness; an irregular heartbeat; diabetes; problems with your eyesight due to diabetes (diabetic retinopathy); and/or problems with your stomach or intestines such as ulcers or bleeding. Also tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, breastfeeding,or if you take any other over-the-counter medications including herbal supplements.

Maxalt should not be taken within 24 hours of using another migraine headache medicine such as ergotamine medication (Cafergot®, Migergot®), dihydroergotamine mesylate injection (DihydroErgoMed®), sumatriptan tablets (Imitrex®, Treximet®), naratriptan hydrochloride tablets(Amerge™), zolmitriptan tablets(Zomig™), eletriptan hydrobromide tablets(Relpax™). Do not take more than 30 mg of rizatriptan in a 24 hour period.

Side effects from Maxalt can include dizziness and tiredness. If you experience these symptoms after taking Maxalt, do not drive a car, operate heavy machinery,or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how this medication affects you
