Ilaxten (Bilastine) is a histamine H1 receptor antagonist indicated for the relief of symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis in adults and children 6 years of age and older. Ilaxten is also indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with chronic idiopathic urticaria in adults. Bilastine has been shown to be efficacious in both single-dose and once-daily dosing regimens.
Bilastine was approved by the FDA on May 19, 2017, making it the first new drug approved for treating allergic rhinitis in over a decade.
